OUR FOOTPRINT

2015 New Hope Chinese Cancer Care Foundation Memories

Volunteer Training:

On January 31, 2015, volunteer training was held. A volunteer was very generous to let us organize this event in her spacious and pleasantly landscaped residence. There were lectures, group discussions, sharing and discussions on how to improve the quality of service cancer friends and help them spend all day activities. All kinds of stress and difficulties in the body, mind and life, and the “Cancer Cancer Service Network” project were born.

Move New Home:

On February 28, 2015, due to the demolition of the old site, we were forced to relocate. After many investigations, we finally found a new home, not far from the site. Not only was the space spacious, it was surrounded by windows on three sides, and the light was sufficient for our cancer friend. There can be a comfortable environment for classes or sports. At the beginning of March, we moved to a new site. On May 2nd, we held a new office opening day. Community friends, cancer friends, families, and volunteers had a warm time together. The Mayor of Milbeuda also came to congratulate and thanked for the thanks. Our service to the community.

Case Regional Coordinators:

On March 5, 2015, the cancer service network was established and senior volunteers served as community liaisons. We divide Bay into five regions, each with its own contact person. When cancer friends or relatives and friends call for new hope to seek support, the office phone caring volunteers fill out forms for them and help arrange the help they need, such as transportation, cancer and mutual assistance. Then, the Yiwu Union referred to the community liaisons and they continued to care for the cancer friend. I hope this service network can provide better and more comprehensive cancer care and better services.

Driving Volunteer Training:

On July 22, 2015, we held the first driving volunteer training. The shortage of driving volunteers has always been a major concern for cancer service. I am very pleased that with the help of Tzu Chi, the Catholic Church and community friends, we have volunteered for many friends who are interested in becoming driving volunteers.

Annual Series of Lectures:

On July 25, 2015, we formally launched our first annual series of lectures. We invited Zhao Boqian and Zhu Xiwen to talk about cancer care. Then in September, the medical director of the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention Xie Wenru talked about cancer prevention and infection prevention. In November, we will be the education group. Provide health talks. Next year, a series of speeches will be introduced. In addition to cancer knowledge, there will be topics such as insurance, social resources, and mental health that cancer friends care about.

Cancer Friends Day Tour:

On September 30, 2015, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge National Park Recreation Area had a group of friends from New Hope, dotted with beautiful scenery. With the assistance of the recreation area, hundreds of cancer-stricken friends visited the San Francisco Bridge in different landscapes. Volunteers explored the road very carefully, and designed different routes according to different physical cancer friends. Cancer friends were very happy and moved. In the future, I hope that I can take cancer friends out every year.

Happy Club Celebrates One Year Old:

On October 3, 2015, nearly one hundred gynecological cancer friends sang happy birthday songs for the “Happy Club” and pink parties took place in October. On the same day, we invited our new director, Pan Minggui, to talk about the topic of gynecological cancer. In the afternoon, a special stall event was held for cancer friends, including wig trimming, breast-milk underwear consultation, and pressure box treasure sale. Let this group of pink sisters have an unforgettable and fulfilling day.

The Second Thanksgiving Day:

In mid-October, we held the second year of the annual conference, which was produced by Silent Worm Entertainment Science and Technology Co., Ltd., and invited Jinyun, the president of Taiwan’s Taipei University of Medicine, to be the keynote speaker. The singing and sharing of the cancer-fighting warrior Shi Mei made the audience entertained. Will and raise more than 200,000 US dollars for new hope!

Triathlon Gary Lin Fundraising:

On the eve of thanksgiving, thanks to the feelings of thanks, we thank senior volunteer Lin Wenxuan and his son Gary Lin! Gary had a big dream to participate in and complete Ironman Western Australia 2015. With the encouragement of his father, he gave this contest a deeper meaning. He raised money for cancer friends. Lin Wenyi also celebrated his entire year as a volunteer. $2,000. That day he completed the challenge of human limits and will power – swimming 2.4-mile, bike 112-mile bike, racing 26.2-mile. And successfully raised more than 10,000 yuan for new hope! Thank you again for supporting Gary’s intentions, supporting new hopes and supporting every cancer-fighting fighter. More…

“Hope To Follow” Cancer Care Handbook:

At the end of 2015, “hope to go hand in hand” also entered the final stage. After many discussions and proofreadings, the only manual in the Bay Area that is edited by Chinese cancer friends provides cancer patients with many cancer knowledge and psychological preparations before, after, and after treatment. Cancer friends can use it. This handbook records all important medical procedures and other life important events and memorable moments.
